Earl 'Mac' Pherson

Earl 'Mac' Pherson sketched friend Marilyn Monroe on numerous occasions. Marilyn II was created in 1957 and formed part of a limited edition that was produced by Earl Mac Pherson for cheese cake publisher Bigelows.

What makes this piece totally unique is that it is hand coloured and embellished by the artist with a personal inscription to his friend and model Marilyn Monroe.

It also has a second, makers’ plate imprint in gold on the reverse side which was a printer's error. Once the mistake was discovered the print was removed from the edition. By this stage Earl had already signed it.

This rare limited edition collectable is in pristine condition. 18” x 24” unframed.
