Alex Gross

Since graduating from Art Center College of Design in 1990 Alex Gross has established himself as a leading exponent of the Pop Surrealism art movement. 

A recipient of the prestigious Artist Fellowship from the Japan Foundation, Alex spent  several months in Japan collecting material that would later influence his work.

Alex' work has been featured in numerous publications including Juxtapoz and in 2006, Chronicle Books published The Art of Alex Gross, the artist’s first monograph. 

In the summer of 2007, Gross’ first retrospective museum show was held at the Grand Central Art Center in Santa Ana, California. 

Gross’ second fine art book, Discrepancies, was published by Gingko Press in 2010, and accompanied an exhibition of the same name. 

In 2011, his work was featured in the ABC series Castle, appearing regularly in several episodes. 

Alex’ work is highly sought after by galleries and collectors around the world and his paintings can be found in collections in London, New York, Tokyo, Los Angeles and Paris. 

Alex Gross lives in Los Angeles with his cat Carlos and collects Gothic art and Japanese movie posters amongst other things.
